A 'Mad Max' Without Mel Gibson?
88076508 Mel Gibson is out, it seems, but Charlize Theron is in, interestingly, for the upcoming Mad Max film series' fourth installment. Director-producer George Miller has announced principal photography will begin in August in Australia for the postapocalyptic action saga.

The previous three installments, Mad Max, The Road Warrior, and Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome proved epic successes for both Miller and Gibson, who was catapulted to fame after the first film hit in 1979.

Gay TV All Weekend Long: 'White Collar' is White Hot
It's a fantastic fall weekend to relax and catch up on some quality time with your television. The weather outside may be getting frightful, but the gay-favorite shows are so delightful! Friday to Sunday, we've got your entertainment needs inexpensively covered. You need only flip on the telly to enjoy hot spy action on White Collar, the sublime sounds of the Pixies or Regina Spektor, wacky new late night from fabulously funny out Wanda Sykes, or a Scotty-centric episode of Brothers & Sisters. It's going to be one of the best weekends of gay TV in a while. Even if you've got plans, you may want to consider staying in. At the very least, set those DVR's!

Kick off the weekend with a lil' Ugly Betty love Friday night at 9 on ABC. This week Betty (America Ferrera) is feeling out of place after Daniel hires a new assistant and Matt has his own date to attend to. What happened to the episodes when everyone needed Betty to save the day?

Gyllenhaal Brings Action in 'Prince of Persia'
The summer blockbuster season is already brewing. Disney execs are hoping the first big hit of the summer will be Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The big-budget, video game-inspired action movie won't be out until May, but the trailer has been released, to the delight of fans of the flick and Jake Gyllenhaal's arms alike.

Gay TV on a Thursday Night: Don't Be Tardy for the Party
Oh, Thursday. With the weekend so close we can almost taste it, most of us are just praying for Thursday to speed by and bring the release of Friday. While it may be a wayward stopover on the way to your weekend, Thursday night television is home to some of the best and brightest gay favorites. Aside from the usual delight new episodes of Real Housewives and Grey's Anatomy bring, one of the best actresses to grace a gay TV show ever, Megan Mullally, brightens up tonight's episode of Parks and Recreation as a guest star. Before one more person crams some "X amount of shopping days till Christmas left" propaganda down your throat, kick back and tune in to our top picks on TV tonight.

Turn your TV to NBC at 8:30 p.m. to see a familiar face and hear that high-pitched voice we know and love. Will & Grace may have cast two actors in the title roles, but for true fans, the series lived and died by the hyper-hilarity of Jack (Sean Hayes) and Karen (Megan Mullally). Mullally brings some signature sparkle to another NBC sitcom tonight when she guest-stars opposite her real-life husband, Nick Offerman. With a woman as talented as she, there's bound to be fireworks in tonight's episode.

Sir Ian McKellen Is Inked!

51671048 The dashing star of X-Men, The Lord of The Rings, and Gods and Monsters recently revealed he has a single sentimental tattoo inked on his skin. The distinguished actor and iconic LGBT rights activist Sir Ian McKellen got the tattoo as a reminder of the magical and meaningful collaboration of artists for the Lord of The Rings feature films.

"It's of the number 9 in Elvish, because there are nine members in the Fellowship of the Ring," Sir Ian explained of the lone body art. "Elijah Wood was holding my hand the entire time," he added.

Augusten Burroughs’s 'Dry' Coming to TV From Ashton Kutcher
72139989 Talk about an A-team. Augusten Burroughs has partnered with Ashton Kutcher’s production company, Katalyst Films, to create a duo of television series: a Showtime comedy inspired by Burroughs’s memoir/ode to alcoholism, Dry, along with a drama for CBS titled The Nature of Fire.

The latter will center on a group of male firefighters who are completely thrown off when a female arson investigator joins their squad.

"I'm a chimpanzee stepping behind the wheel of a Ferrari," Burroughs said of his foray into television from writing. "As long as somebody from Katalyst, CBS, or Showtime is there to shout, 'Red means stop,' we should all be fine and come out of this with some very nice television."

Another of Burroughs’s books, his early memoir Running With Scissors, was adapted into an excellent film starring Annette Bening in 2006, with a screenplay cowritten by the author.

Mariah Carey's Misstep
Despite all demands to the contrary, even the biggest of divas can’t be flawless all the time. The record-holding songstress Mariah Carey had a near spill while making her way along the stage at Jay Leno's talk show.

Gay TV on a Wednesday Night: ‘Top Chef’ Where Are They Now?
After skating through several weeks of musical mash-ups and killer Sue Sylvester insults, it's a little scary to be living in a world without a Wednesday night episode of Glee. The MLB World Series will once again bump the Fox favorite, but that probably won't stop fans from tweeting their lament for their favorite show, just like last week. But thankfully, we still have Modern Family to satisfy our insatiable need for intelligent, quirky humor. Tonight's prime-time lineup is full of promise when Top Chef All Stars return to catch up on what's been cooking with your favorite former contestants since the show and a Mad Men lady pops up on Mercy. Plus gay Brit comedy-god Stephen Fry is on a late-night couch. It's an awesome gay night of wonderful TV.

If you're jonesing for some medical drama, check in to Mercy on NBC at 8 p.m. There are the occasional asides from the witty male nurse Angel, where notably a wonderful gay actor (Guillermo Diaz) is playing an as-yet-underdeveloped gay character. More meaty is Mad Men's Elizabeth Moss's role in tonight's episode. She guest-stars as a young mother suffering form leukemia. She told the New York Daily News, "I got to do some things I normally don't get to do" in this role. "It's heavy material, obviously, and also the treatment she's going through is physically harrowing," she said. "It's hard to talk enthusiastically on such a horrible treatment, but, wow, it was awesome. I get to wear a bald cap and prosthetics that take my eyebrows off."

Gay TV on a Tuesday Night: Kathy Griffin's 'Balls of Steel'
Have you ever wished for a day full of nothing but Kathy Griffin's unique brand of celeb-skewering stand-up? If you have, that dream has come true on this particular Tuesday. You can spend the whole day marathon-enjoying assorted Griffin specials leading up to the premiere of her new special, Balls of Steel, on Bravo tonight. There's also a new series premiere V featuring a Gia actress lesbians may know and love (and lust after...) as well as everyone's favorite One Day at a Time-er, Valerie Bertinelli, chatting with Craig Ferguson in late-night land. It's an excellent evening of gay favorites, plus a certain controversial gay conservative pops up on The Colbert Report. Turn on the TV, set the TiVo, then tell us what you thought about what you watched!

With the marathon kicking off at 4 p.m., you can spend your whole Tuesday laughing at the rich and famous, courtesy of the the LGBTQ audience’s favorite funny girl, Kathy Griffin. Beginning with Kathy Griffin Is...Not Nicole Kidman and hitting every high, including Everybody Can Suck It, Strong Black Woman, Straight to Hell, and finally, possibly my favorite, She'll Cut a Bitch, it's all leading up to the premiere of her latest special at 9. If you missed any of the previous specials, are home sick, or are sadly underemployed in this wretched economy, take this Tuesday off to laugh. You have our permission.

Hugh Jackman Won't Repeat his Oscar Gig
Say it ain't so. The thrice-over talented Aussie hunk Hugh Jackman won praise and prestige when the Wolverine star hosted the 2009 Academy Awards ceremony. The star of stage and screen sang, danced, and charmed the A-list crowd and viewers, to the delight of the show’s producers. So much so, in fact, they invited Jackman to return as the show’s host next March.
