Adam Lambert's Back on the Market
Lambert was ultimately runner-up to Allen when the two competed, but Allen insists they maintain a close friendship. “We see each other every once in a while and we text all the time," Allen said.
Though he maintains their competitive days are long behind them, the two will at least be competing on the charts with their respective debuts: Allen's self-titled album will be released November 17, just one week ahead of Lambert's anticipated debut, For Your Entertainment, on November 23.
Recent rumors say the creative Lambert also has acting ambitions, with Entertainment Weekly suggesting he'd be an inspired addition to Burlesque, starring Christina Aguilera and Cher.
Tell us: The big question -- is your allegiance with Glambert or the Allen Nation? Which artist do you think will have the most success and capture an audience beyond Idol?

I think they will both do well. They are appealing to different markets and both are great at what they do. I personally like both of them. It's like I love Led Zepplin and I love James Taylor. Both different both great and both did well.

The article was just fine, until you felt compelled to end it with the "Glambert vs. Allen Nation" question. There's a nauseating amount of fanwarring between Adam's and Kris's fan bases, and it really isn't necessary to deliberately incite more of it. Adam and Kris are friends, I'm sure they wish only the best for each other, and it would be nice if their respective fans could follow their lead.

Both will do well of course. Both are very talented guys.

I too hope that both do well since they've become close friends and were never adversaries to begin with. They are two different types of singers/artists and the press' constant clamor about who will do and be the best is counterproductive to both their careers. As primarily a classical musician, I fell in love with Adam's voice and artistry over Kris'. Adam's vocal talent is limitless and he can sing any style or genre while Kris' voice is more limited in range, tone quality and style. But, Kris can play several different instruments which makes Kris more musically rounded and which Adam stated he envies. I wish the press/websites/fans would give up this insatiable need to keep this phantom rivalry going. It's not necessary and neither are the hurtful and ugly things being written by bloggers on the various websites. It would be nice to just love and support your favorite without cutting down the other artist. Music is the universal language of love and peace...can't we keep it that way?

Awwe, you guys are so NICE! it's okay to have an opinion or preference. they're different, and if you don't like one, someone else will. That said, I personally adore Adam Lambert and greatly prefer his music! I think it will be interesting to watch his career mature as he has already come out, where many stars have hidden their sexuality until later in their careers or entirely all together

My allegiance? lol wat
I want them both to do well. I like both their styles and there is room for both of them in the industry.

What about both? Expand your horizons. Get the best of both worlds. Etc. etc.

Why try to incite more fanwarring? Adam and Kris are great friends, first of all. Second, other than American Idol music the two have zero in common music wise. Adam Lambert is a bonafide rocker-to be. His style, swagger, and voice is right up there with Robert Plant. Kris Allen is equally as talented with obvious differences in musical tastes. Let it go, this quabble is old.

Kris Allen is an OK artist, but let's be truthful, Allen won it due to bias in the population that didn't want an out person to win.
I believe, although Allen is a nice guy, he is light years behind Lambert's talent and skill. I think even Allen admitted as much, that is that he shouldn't have won.
I wish them both well.

Honestly, I love both their voices and presence on the stage and what each of them bring to the table. While I can sit back and relax and listen to Kris' music and his beautiful voice, I can get to an emotional state; on the other hand with Adam, his voice is so vibrant that he makes me want to get up, dance and sing with him. I will buy both their CD's and I know they will do extremely well with each of their fan base! Congrats to both of them and they will go far.....plus they're both so hot too! I know, Kris is straight and married and Adam's gay....so what, they are both incredible hot artists.

Adam and Kris both seem to be extremely nice guys and I wish them the best. Time will tell if either of them can go beyond being good singers to actually having something remotely original to contribute to the history of recorded music (which, IMO, most products of the "Idol Assembly Line" haven't). If I had to guess, though, I suspect Adam may end up making the bigger splash because his image/persona is drawn in bolder strokes and taken more to an extreme that makes him stick in people's minds (which is the kind of advice that image consultants often give up-and-coming artists: "Make your public persona a more extreme version of yourself"). Personally, I'm not fond of the image-driven shallowness of the pop music biz (I'm only familiar with Adam and Kris because my boyfriend insists on watching the show - I stopped getting my tastes in music spoon-fed to me by radio and TV a long time ago). But, as with high school, it's a big popularity contest, and the ones who are the biggest characters with the most glitter and flash are the ones who most often thrive in such environments.
